Mining of the Future - How Sandvik Takes on the Sustainability Challenge

  • Luleå tekniska universitet & online (map)

A world economy powered by renewable energy requires metals – massively more compared to an economy fueled by fossil energy. Metals make up the batteries in our cars, the turbines and blades in our windmills, and the cells in our solar panels. But how sustainable can the industry that excavates those metals really be? Sandvik takes on this challenge with market leading battery-electric mining vehicles, circular production and a strong commitment to reducing its CO2-emissions.

Join us for an inspiring lunch lecture on September 20th featuring Tommi Valkonen - Strategy Manager, Electrification at Sandvik Mining and Rock Solutions as he describes in detail what work on sustainability in an industrial company really looks like.
