Join us for an inspiring lunch lecture on May 10th featuring senior project manager Sven Jönsson from Vattenfall.
Based on Sven´s extensive experience in several projects in Sweden and Africa, the event will focus on “Front end loading”, i.e. the need of doing your homework, requirements hierarchy and interpretation of requirements.
The second part of the lecture will present stories about his experiences from billion SEK projects in nuclear construction to emergency development projects in Somalia, highlighting the similarities in the basic mechanisms for these and focusing on people and culture.

Sven Jönsson is a senior project manager at Vattenfall with a broad experience in running projects in Sweden and Africa. He is currently part of the management team in a multi billion SEK project “Short-lived radioactive nuclear waste” and has been in the last couple of years part of the management teams for large nuclear construction projects as well as the investment project to re-open the Dannemora iron ore mine.
After graduating with a Master of science, civil engineering at Chalmers University in Gothenburg he worked a decade at contracting companies before turning into restoring and maintaining old churches in Sweden.
He then spent ten years in Africa, building a radio studio for Trans World Radio in Maputo, Mocambique, restoring four old mission hospitals in the southern part of Zimbabwe, running a failed maintenance project in kwaZulu Natal in South Africa and before joining UNICEF in Somalia and Eritrea with emergency and development work.
Sven´s engagement is nurtured by his passion to take part in improving our world and his belief that it’s the responsibility for each and every person to do whatever one can. Every step counts to become a cog in the machinery, either in contributing to a fossil free living, helping newly arrived engineers or travel the world. Whatever you can do.
